These are some examples of 43 videos that I created within a time period of 8 months to launch the digital educational platform Animal Wellness Academy. All videos were adapted from articles on pet health from the magazines Animal Wellness, Feline Wellness and IVC Journal. I was solely responsible for creating high quality animated videos from the scripts at an efficient pace. All animation was done by me including the intro logo reveal.
Process:
For the High Dose Vitamin C Therapy video, I had a strict deadline to complete the adaptation of the article content to a video within one week, so I began by formatting the script created and edited by me and Dana into a detailed storyboard that specified all animations as well as all visual assets (vectors graphics, stock imagery, music, voiceover & branding materials) that needed to be assembled before I could begin production. In addition to working on a couple other quicker projects that week, the process of drafting a storyboard and getting approval and all the assets was completed over a period of 4 work days.
This process included drafting a few animations in After Effects to test their visual impact as well as gage how much time it would take for me complete them and whether the time-frame worked for the quick turnaround that was required for the project. Some of the animations established in this process became visual themes that I used in many other videos to indicate a visual language in the content that launched the Animal Wellness Academy platform.

In The Power of Medicinal Mushrooms video, one technique I created that we ended up using in all future videos was the highlighting and scaling of keywords onscreen as they were said in the voiceover. Using the text animator in After Effects and applying scale and fill colour range selectors I achieved this effect to help viewers consume information easier and highlight scientific terms that they could use for further reference.

The launch videos for Animal Wellness Academy were the most educational shorts I have ever made in such a short period of time. Working with my bosses and editors, I developed a healthy work pace of about 1 video per week on average. In order to keep up this rate of production, I had to be careful about how much time I was spending on any one animation included in the videos. Examples like the highlighted text above were ways to expedite animation in each video to save time, since once that animation was created I could essentially just copy and paste the keyframes into any text that required it. The scriptwriting process was also quicker than creating content from scratch as each video was based on an article that had already been published by Redstone Media Group in one of their pet-oriented publications. After 8 months of work our goal of 40 videos ready for the launch date had been reached and every single video was fully edited and produced by myself.
