2020
I co-wrote, edited and animated these promos, advertising and showcasing lecturers for IVCVX: The Innovative Veterinary Care Virtual Expo, an online exposition for veterinary professionals that took place  in November 2020 in the heart of the pandemic. I also created an animated intro & outro for the lecture, an internal tutorial video for the presenters to self-record, and edited all 50+ lectures that were featured.
Process:
I was the sole videographer in charge of creating all of the video marketing content to promote this online expo. After a meeting discussing the visual strategy of the marketing materials we decided on a sophisticated, futuristic style that evoked a sense of expertise in the latest veterinary care, with a tongue-in-cheek angle that since the expo was entirely virtual it would be taking place on the moon. I began the creation of these materials by animating the logo our graphic designer had created. The unique futurist font used presented an opportunity to animate the letters in a complex way to underscore the technological sophistication of the event.
The lecturers involved were located across North America and a process needed to be established to ensure that they were able to film themselves delivering the lectures required as well as some introductory content of themselves to put on the website for the event. To achieve this I created a tutorial video instructing them how to use screen recording software as well as another video with some tips for recording a quality video.
Once all the static visual imagery had been created and assembled by me in collaboration with our one other graphic designer and the lecturers had created their introductions I began to write and storyboard the promo with my boss, Tim Hockley. We created a script that included the selling points of the virtual expo with spotlights on some of the lecturer introductions as well as the futuristic features represented in an imaginary moon-base where the expo was taking place. I then storyboarded this script and after approval edited together all of the scenes and refined the pacing to create the promo seen above.

In addition to the promos included, I edited every lecture that had been submitted by 50+ lecturers. This involved colour grading, editing for time, removing errors and in some case corresponding with the lecturers to record edits or new sections. I also used the visual style established in the promos for an intro and outro to each lecture video.
