I storyboarded and animated this digital ad for PKA SoftTouch an innovative micro-needle design for the launch of their Frontfundr investment campaign.
Process:
The beginning of this video started with an in-depth script-writing by my bosses at Redstone Media Group. As opposed to most of the clients we worked with which were pet product retailers, this video was directed towards potential investors to the micro-needle technology that the PKA SoftTouch contained and therefore required a much different strategy.

Once the script was created it was my job to create a storyboard and schedule production with a small team and strict deadline. A few parts of the video had interview footage included as well as animated sections and these were given priority in the schedule as the parts that would take the most time to create. The storyboard also relied heavily on high-impact imagery that would effectively support the claims being made about the product and hold the interest of the intended audience of investors.

The video also required animated demonstrations of the patented technology to visually represent what made this a groundbreaking product in the medical industry. I storyboarded these animated segments first to showcase them to the client and determine how long each one would take to animated. I also delved into the stock footage available to us and made a number of selections within the budget of the project that would have the most impact. These selections were then reviewed and as the script was finalized we determined the budget for the video based on production time as well as stock footage that needed to be purchased.

During production I reviewed many pieces of stock footage to find the most effective clips to support the content of the voiceover. It was important to find the correct demographics represented as well as visual impact that would evoke a professional and expert understanding of the medical industries needs and the interests of potential investors. I also spent a lot of time selecting the correct music, which needed to be serious and also uplifting. I ended up heavily editing the song choice to fit the flow of video (quiet parts during important points, a crescendo and uplifting ending).
